Services to Assist With Independent Living
Work with Essential Family Services when you are looking for independent living services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Independent living services are provided to individuals at least 18 years of age to assist them with developing and using skills to maintain their homes and remain independent while living in the community.
Individuals who receive these services normally live alone or with roommates in a house or an apartment.
Individuals who receive these services will have a Direct Support Professional that assists them with learning how to live independently by helping them with tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and scheduling appointments. The staff can provide support through verbal prompting, demonstration, or hand-over-hand assistance with tasks of daily living.
The goal of this service is to help individuals to be independent while they live on their own and feel confident in their abilities to do so. Contact us to learn more about the independent living services we offer.
